Bicester is a town with a population of around 30,000 residents, located in the Cherwell district in Oxfordshire. Just 30 years ago, Bicester had a much smaller population of just 17,500, and within the next 20 years, the number is predicted to reach 60,000 when plans for 13,000 new properties are completed.

Historical records show Bicester started out in the year 643 under the name Berencester. It was referenced some 400 years later in the Domesday Book of 1086, so the town has a long history.

The town centre of Bicester town centre is small but charming, with narrow old-world streets and iconic Cotswold stone houses.

The formerly peaceful market town of is among the fastest growing towns in the South. In 2014, Bicester won “garden town” status. A garden town consists of various self-contained separate developments, each with their own shops, schools, and commercial premises designed to contain residential properties, industry, and agricultural concerns in proportionate amounts.

One reason Bicester was chosen for development is it is conveniently close to junction 9 of the M40, allowing easy access to London, and within commuting distance of Birmingham. It also has good rail links to Oxford and London, with two stations; Bicester North and the purpose built Bicester Village station that serves the hugely popular shopping outlet on the outskirts of Bicester.
